The Zerostat 3 is highly rated for its ability to improve the sound quality of records and CDs by removing static. The Zerostat 3 incorporates a unique Piezo Crystal device which generates a positive electrical charge of ions with one gentle squeeze of the trigger, and a negative charge on release of the trigger so cancelling the charges on the disc. Constructed from durable hard plastic, it requires no batteries or refills and is a long lasting alternative to cleaning brushes.
The Zerostat is perfect for eliminating the static charge that builds up due to the rotation of a Record Cleaning Machine and its suction tube and eliminates this charge with a slow pull of the trigger. The Zerostat antistatic gun was discovered to have great applicability for use in photographic darkrooms to remove dust from film and negatives.
A complete squeeze cycle results in a neutral static condition—one perfectly in balance, neither too heavy nor too light—and my LPs play quietly. This step in my LP-playing routine grew out of necessity and has become a habit. The process is especially important in the cold winter months, when the air in my small apartment is dry, and debris stubbornly clings to my LPs and my cartridge’s stylus.

I have been so impressed with how this unit works that I wanted to share the results of this simple device with my fellow readers of The Speaker Shack.

The Zerostat 3 is very effective at eliminating the static charge on a LP. This should improve playback and help keep the record cleaner for longer. If you live in a dry environment and have static issues with your records, the Milty antistatic gun will help.
